Miss/Teen Candidate Information & Application 2026
The Miss Lewis County Scholarship Program is open to young women of Lewis County who are interested in serving in a leadership role that fosters community service.
The 2025 program will take place on March 8th 2025. Applications for the 2026 program are due by December 10th 2025.
Training sessions for all candidates will start mid January and run until the competition takes place. These sessions will take place every Sunday afternoon with a couple Friday evening session (subject to event center availability.)
General Requirements for Teen & Miss Lewis County Candidates
These requirements reflect the current standards set by the Miss America Opportunity.
Miss candidates must be female, age 18 to 27. Must be 18 by time of state competition and no older than 27 at time of state competition.
Teen candidates must be female, age 14 to 17. Must be 14 by time of state competition and no older than 17 at time of state competition.
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Resident of Lewis County
Be enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited public or private school, or home schooled within Lewis County
Work full time in Lewis County (40 hours per week)
The program will consider young women who reside or attend school in an area adjacent to Lewis County, which does not have a Miss America preliminary pageant. Priority will be given to young women who live, work full time or go to school full time in Lewis County.
Candidate must be single. The candidate is eligible to compete if she is engaged to be married however she cannot be getting married during the Year of Service. A candidate may be accepted to compete if she attests she is willing to postpone any marital plans if selected as the Titleholder until after her year of service. The candidate also agrees she shall not make any public statements or allow another party to make public statements regarding a public announcement of a marriage proposal or marriage engagement during her year of service.
The candidate must have no legal dependants. She cannot be pregnant, and attests she is not a parent or the adoptive parent, nor will she become a parent or adoptive parent of any child, during her year of service.
Must be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.
Candidates must be a United States citizen.
The candidate selected for the responsibility of serving as Miss Lewis County or Miss Lewis County’s Teen, must be available to serve as that title and official hostess of Lewis County from March 2025 until March 2026. She will also compete in the Miss Washington Scholarship Program Miss/Teen competition in July 2025. As the Miss Lewis County Scholarship Program supports education, every effort will be made to accommodate her school schedule.
Candidates must meet all additional requirements pursuant to the Miss America State and Local Application & Agreement.
